Unit 2: Questions
Spirals
Photographers are often inspired by the qualities and characteristics of spiral forms. Andy Goldsworthy has created spirals in the natural landscape and photographed the results. Yuval Cadmon has photographed spiral forms by recording the movement of light. many photographers produced images of spiral forms found in architecture and nature.
I chose the theme Spirals because I am interested in the way this shape can take several forms in nature and in man made objects. I like the idea of experimenting with bold colours and long exposures to make spirals of light. I plan to photograph plants and other natural forms that have spirals.

In this picture the artist seems to be holding a picture. Inside the picture we can see hands holding other pictures of the artist which she has rotated 45 degrees. There are 6 images in total. This creates a kind of spiral effect in the final picture.
I'm going to try to use this technique to make my own spiral image out of several rotated photographs. |

The shoot went really well and i took these to make a spiral effect for my theme. I think that i achieved what i wanted to create, a series of pictures at different angles. A friend of mine held the mirror to reflect me and the camera, after that i printed it out and done the same but without the mirror.
EBI:
I could have done different colour backgrounds and taken a bit more pictures or different faces e.g next to each other.
My exam theme unit 2.
i have done a piece of lollipop in spirals. i have chosen this for my exam theme because it is something different and it is so colourful to do. Also i thought that it would be good to experiment with the size and colour because i could mix and match.
DarkroomI made spirals on paper and then i took them to the darkroom. I think they went really well for my final piece.

I saw an image similar on Pinterest and thought that I could do some thing similar using an image of a lollipop. I wanted to fill the whole page by using spirals, to make it look like lots of spirals over the whole page because I thought it would look different which it does but its not quite what I wanted. What I want to create was a huge spiral made up of smaller spirals by using the lollipop. For my next experiment i want to create more of a spiral shape. |
My own spirals
Evaluation
To do some of these pictures i edited a couple of them to change the contrast, high light and shadows. Which made a good effect. The most successful ones were paper and film because of the shadows which made it better to do. The shadows on them make it stand out which i was happy about.
